The final week of Unit 3: two days of mixed, real-life ratio and proportion problems, a self-directed review, extra timed practice, and the Unit 3 assessment. By the end of this week you should feel genuinely confident applying ratio and proportion to real situations, not just isolated exercises.

This week puts ratio to work in real-world contexts: scaling recipes with direct proportion, working out which supermarket deal is actually better value, reading scale drawings and maps, and converting between units of measurement — some of the most genuinely useful skills in the whole course.

Unit 3 begins: Ratio & Proportion. This week covers what ratio actually means, how to simplify it, share an amount using one, and solve problems when you're only given part of the picture — genuinely practical maths that shows up everywhere from recipes to exchange rates.

The final week of Unit 2: algebraic fractions with multiplication and division, then two days pulling everything together — mixed problem solving and forming equations from real-life situations, before a self-directed review and the Unit 2 assessment.

Week 7 extends brackets and factorising into two new directions: expanding two brackets at once, and rearranging a formula to make a different letter the subject. We finish with algebraic fractions, treating expressions with letters exactly the way you already treat ordinary fractions.

Week 6 takes last week's multiplying skills and applies them to brackets — expanding by multiplying everything inside a bracket, then the reverse process, factorising. We finish by forming algebraic expressions from written descriptions, putting the whole week's skills to use.

Unit 2 begins: Algebra. This week covers the notation itself, simplifying expressions by collecting like terms, substitution, and multiplying/dividing terms — the same rules of arithmetic you already know, just written in a more general way. Same tiered format, warm-ups that build on what you already know.

The last week of Unit 1: rounding, estimation, and systematic listing, followed by a self-directed mixed review and the Unit 1 assessment. By the end of this week you should feel genuinely solid on everything from arithmetic to BIDMAS — the foundation the rest of the course builds on.

Week 3 moves into powers and roots — squares, cubes, and their opposites — before tying it all together with the order of operations (BIDMAS) and a first look at index laws. Same tiered format as before, with warm-ups that build on what you already know from the last two weeks.

Week 2 builds straight on last week's arithmetic: factors, multiples, primes, and the two ideas that trip most people up first time round, HCF and LCM. Same tiered format as Week 1, warm-ups that recall what you already know, and a Friday consolidation before we move on to powers and roots.

We're starting right at the foundations: place value, the four operations, and negative numbers. Five short lessons, a Foundation/Intermediate/Higher choice every day so nothing feels too easy or too hard, and a Friday consolidation to lock it all in before we build on it next week.

This week, we’ll explore how factors and multiples lead to more powerful number tools: Lowest Common Multiple (LCM) and Highest Common Factor (HCF). We’ll also look at index notation for repeated multiplication and standard form, which helps us write very large and very small numbers simply.

This week, we’re exploring factors, multiples, and prime numbers, three key building blocks of number theory. You’ll learn how to find them, spot patterns, and see how they’re used in real life, from packaging in factories to creating secure online passwords.

This week you will be learning about integer, negative numbers, decimal numbers place value, multiplying and dividing by 10, 100 and 1000 and rounding numbers.

We are starting the GCSE course by revising concepts you should already be secure with from previous years' study. These basic concepts are essential for more complex concepts later on, so spend the time practising them. However, if you are arriving here having not studied maths before, do not worry, I am starting from scratch, and you will get plenty of practice time

This week is a celebration of everything you’ve learned this term. You’ll revise ratio, fractions, percentages, graphs, data handling, and probability through fun online activities and short practice worksheets. At the end of the week, you’ll complete a short assessment covering all of these skills.

This week, we will use sample spaces to calculate probabilities, represent events with Venn diagrams and two-way tables, and apply the product rule for counting outcomes. We will solve problems involving multiple events and combinations.

This week covers frequency tables (grouped and ungrouped), representing grouped data with charts and diagrams, and constructing scatter graphs to describe relationships. Students also draw and interpret a line of best fit to make predictions.

This week, we move beyond straight lines to explore quadratic graphs, reciprocal graphs, and compare linear with non-linear graphs.
